These shoes were purchased for daily, recreational walking. I was looking for a rugged yet stylish trail shoe. I prefer the trail running shoes for walking because they meet my needs best. The shoe sole is the most important aspect of the shoe design with regards to walking. These shoue have a thick and rugged sole that should last for more than a year of abuse on concrete and asphalt without significant wearing in the heel. The midsole support is perfect for my arches and completely eliminates foot fatigue. The rubber toe area is a plus for walking on wet sidewalks, grass, gravel, etc. The tread on the shoe is typical to that of any trail running shoe. The uppers are a synthetic webbing for airflow and durability - a bit chilly in the winter but they warm up after you get going. In summary, I really like these shoes for the way they look, feel, and perform. I would recommend them to anyone interested in a great athletic shoe for casual walking/hiking."
